In an explosive case of road rage, a man was jailed after a heated confrontation with a bus driver.
Teo Kian Chin, a 42-year-old Mercedes driver, parked his vehicle at a bus stop along Flora Road, around midnight on Oct. 31, 2022, prompting a bus driver to honk at him.
Instead of acknowledging his poor parking and moving, Teo chose to confront the bus driver. He shouted vulgarities, trespassed onto the bus, and snatched the bus driver’s phone when he saw the driver filming him and threw it onto the road.
The police tracked Teo down after a report was filed aginst him and the video went viral online. His unruly behaviour led to a court case, charging him with causing public nuisance, trespassing, and harassment. The court sentenced Teo to five days in jail, fined him S$3,000, and suspended his driving license for a month upon his release.
