The body of a 60 year-old man was found in his Ang Mo Kio flat in a state of decomposition.
In the early hours of December 29, around 7:30am, the body was found in a three-room flat at Block 208 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1. Police officers had cordoned off the area when Shin Min reporters arrived at the scene. Blood stains were spotted outside the door and a fluid was seen seeping from underneath the door to the stairs. There was also a foul smell detect outside the unit.
The body discovered belonged to a 60-year-old man, last spotted in on Christmas Day, 25 December, on his bicycle. The man has been staying alone and there was nobody visiting him during festive seasons, noted by the neighbours. The deceased was generally in good health and was often on his bicycle, but had suddenly lost weight in recent months.
The police told Shin Min that they were alerted to a case of an unnatural death at 7:30am on Friday, 29 December. The 60-year-old man was found unconscious lying at home and was later confirmed dead. According to preliminary investigation, the police did not suspect foul play and commented that the case was currently under investigation.
