Tony Leung Meets Fans in Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) in Singapore for his movie “The Goldfinger”

Iconic actor Tony Leung Chiu Wai graced the shores of Singapore on 21st December at Resorts World Sentosa. It has been a full decade since Leung’s last official public appearance in Singapore, previously seen in 2013 promoting “The Grandmaster”.

His new film “The Goldfinger”, also featuring star Andy Lau, is a headline-grabber not just for its stellar cast but as a revival of a duo that has not shared the screen in twenty-two years since the classic “Infernal Affairs”. A journey down memory lane, both actors’ roles in Asian cinema have shaped many film experiences in Singapore, with frequent revisits to “Infernal Affairs” as a testament to their lasting impact.

Despite Singapore’s gloomy weather, the dedication of Leung’s fans was unmistakable; a large crowd lined the red carpet, which stretched through parts of Universal Studios Singapore (USS) and into the Pantages Hollywood Theatre, which is located in Universal Studios Singapore. Leung, alongside director Felix Chong and producer Ronald Wong, indulged the crowd with autographs and shared moments.

The team of three showed no signs of tiredness despite a back-to back schedule — the film held its gala in Hong Kong on Dec. 20, and the team flew to Singapore on Dec. 21. Upon arrival in Singapore, they fielded questions at a press conference, split up for media interviews, before freshening up and heading straight for the red carpet and gala.

This much anticipated film, “The Goldfinger” opens on Dec. 30 in Singapore.
