Adam Road Food Centre has reopened with a fresh new look and improved facilities following a three-month renovation.
The revitalization of Adam Road Food Centre, a popular hawker centre situated at the junction of Bukit Timah Road and Adam Road, was completed on schedule. With its doors reopening on January 1, 2024, after a closure that spanned from October 1 to December 31 2023, the food centre welcomes patrons back with new enhancements.
The renovation incorporated five large fans to improve ventilation and added new tables and chairs, creating a more pleasant dining experience.
With the reopening of the food centre, some stall venders adjusted prices in response to the increased costs of ingredients and supplies. A dessert vendor noted, “The cost of jelly went up from S$31 to S$46,” compelling a price increase. On the other hand, a chicken rice stall owner committed to maintaining prices to accommodate students and migrant workers, keeping food at an affordable level for them.
