Marina Bay Sands (MBS) will commence full-scale construction of its expansion, which includes a fourth tower and a 15,000-seat entertainment arena, by July 2025. MBS stated that the project will be completed by July 2029. The latest artist’s impression showcases the entertainment arena between the existing property and the fourth tower. Previously, the fourth tower had been positioned next to the existing property, with the arena farther away.
The expansion project, led by architect Moshe Safdie, was designed by award-winning firm Safdie Architects. According to MBS, the project includes a luxury hotel tower with a sky roof, a 15,000-seat entertainment arena, new meeting and convention spaces, new food and beverage offerings, and nightlife offerings.
Mr Patrick Dumont, president and chief operating officer of Las Vegas Sands, MBS’s parent company, has lauded the expansion project as a significant investment in Singapore. He expressed his belief that this development would not only boost Singapore’s tourism growth but also make substantial contributions to employment and visitorship in the years to come, instilling a sense of optimism among stakeholders.
The expansion project is a testament to MBS’s commitment to providing the best hospitality experience. It is distinct from a US$1.75 billion (S$2.36 billion) reinvestment in the existing property, the largest reinvestment since the integrated resort’s opening in 2010. MBS has already revitalized Towers 1 and 2, offering new premium dining options and luxury amenities that have successfully attracted high-value travelers. With plans to revamp Tower 3, the lobby, and Sands SkyPark, MBS is set to offer even more enticing options, making tourists feel intrigued and interested in visiting.
Since its opening, MBS has hosted over 1,750 new-to-Singapore Mice events and welcomed over 470 million visitors. The integrated resort directly employs over 11,500 people, and the workforce is expected to grow to support the expansion. With the fourth tower and entertainment arena under construction, MBS will remain Singapore’s leading Mice destination, with new options that will attract more patrons from around the globe.
