A tragic accident along the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) on Tuesday, June 11, resulted in the death of a 58-year-old motorcyclist. The collision involved a motorcycle and a lorry on the AYE, heading towards the Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE), shortly after passing the Keppel Road entrance. The incident was promptly reported to the authorities at around 3 pm.
The site of the accident was captured in images and circulated on the Singapore Roads Accident.com Facebook group that evening. In these images, two lanes of the expressway were sealed off as part of the accident scene. Behind a stationary lorry was the damaged motorcycle, near which a blue police tent was erected, signaling the fatality. A police and EMAS recovery vehicle presence was also noted at the site.
The Singapore Police Force has confirmed that the motorcyclist was declared dead at the scene by a paramedic from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). A 37-year-old lorry driver is currently cooperating with law enforcement as they investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
