Singapore’s prominent socialite and skincare mogul Kim Lim recently revealed she is expecting a child as a single mother. The announcement came via her personal social media channel with an emotional video posted on August 7. In the clip, which also doubles as a celebration of her July birthday, Lim is seen aboard a yacht on Bangkok’s Chao Phraya River, disclosing her five-month pregnancy that followed several IVF treatments.
On her 33rd birthday, delighting in a flamboyant gender reveal soiree, Lim is captured in tears, cradling her growing belly, while beholding massive fireworks and drone displays painting the night sky. In a playful stunt, the drones asked, “Is it a girl? Is it a boy?” before she cut the video without unveiling the baby’s sex.
Kim Lim, daughter of Singaporean magnate Peter Lim, is already a mother to seven-year-old Kyden from her first marriage with Kho Bin Kai, which ended in divorce in 2020. While she remarried Leslie Leow in early 2022, the relationship concluded within two months. The paternity of Kim’s unborn child has not been disclosed, nor has her expected delivery date. However, it’s speculated that the baby may arrive before January 28, 2025, following a reference to the dragon zodiac sign in her celebrations.
In the heartfelt caption of her post, Lim empathizes with fellow single mothers, acknowledging the hardships and lack of support they often face while praising their resilience. Citing solidarity, she expressed admiration for the strength of single mothers, vowing communal support to overcome the challenges they encounter.
The event itself was the work of luxury events planner Lelian Chew and was attended by local personalities including influencer JianHao Tan and Debbie Soon. So touched by the occasion, Soon dedicated an Instagram post to Lim, sharing her elation for the ‘little dragon’ and the love the baby has already received from Lim’s close circle.
