Residents of Yishun were left in shock when a harrowing incident unfolded before their eyes as a man fell from the ninth floor of a block. A video of the incident was shared on the Complaint Singapore Facebook group, capturing the chilling moment as the man stood on a narrow ledge outside a window on the top floor.
The onlookers watched as the man attempted to climb to another ledge, but tragically lost his footing and fell to the ground below. Despite falling onto an inflatable safety life air pack, the man seemed to have suffered a hard landing, as the air pack did not appear to be fully inflated upon impact.
Rescue personnel quickly rushed to the scene and attended to the motionless man, attempting to assess his condition and rouse him. The man was then transferred onto a stretcher and taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), who had received a call for assistance at the location.
The SCDF confirmed that the person involved had fallen onto the air pack as it was being inflated. No further details about the man’s condition were disclosed.
This incident has left the community in shock, reminding everyone to be cautious and prioritize safety at all times.
