SAF Full-Time National Serviceman Found Dead at Pasir Laba Camp

A Singapore National Serviceman Found Dead

A full-time national serviceman (NSF) of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) was discovered unconscious at Pasir Laba Camp and later pronounced dead at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, according to a joint statement released by the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and the Singapore Police Force (SPF) on Saturday.

The NSF was found unresponsive next to a bed on Friday evening, with MINDEF and SPF stating, “The SAF Ambulance Service was activated by the unit to evacuate him to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. Despite resuscitation efforts en route, the serviceman was pronounced dead at the hospital.”

His age was not disclosed, and authorities have confirmed that the incident was unrelated to training. Preliminary investigations suggest no foul play, with authorities classifying the case as an unnatural death and continuing investigations.

MINDEF and the SAF extended their condolences, stating, “The Ministry of Defence and the SAF extend our deepest condolences to the family of the late serviceman, and are assisting the family in their time of grief.”
