In a sad turn of events, the lifeless body of a 66-year-old woman was discovered at Punggol Waterway Park over the weekend. The incident, which occurred on a Saturday morning, revealed no signs of foul play as reported by Shin Min Daily News.
Two regular visitors to the park, who have been engaging in morning exercises at the venue for over two decades, were shocked to come across a police tent when they arrived at around 7 am that fateful day. This was the first instance of someone falling into the water that they had encountered in all their years of visiting the park. It was noted that the park is well-lit during the night, making it unlikely for someone to accidentally fall into the river.

Situated near the bustling Waterway Point mall, the park was packed with weekend visitors who were intrigued by the sight of the police presence. By 8.40 am, the police had secured the area, with a pair of pink slippers seen beside the blue tent.
Upon being contacted by MS News, the Singapore Police Force revealed that they received a distress call at approximately 6.50 am on that Saturday. The body of the deceased woman was found floating in the waters along Punggol Walk before being retrieved and confirmed deceased by a paramedic from the Singapore Civil Defence Force. While there are no suspicions of foul play based on preliminary investigations, further police inquiries are ongoing.
