The Anglo-Chinese School (ACS) network is set to expand with the opening of ACS Bali in July 2025. Situated on Bali Island, the new school will provide a unique educational experience for students both locally and internationally. In an advertorial published in The Straits Times, ACS Bali shared details about its future campus and vision for the school.
According to ACS Bali, the school will be located in Kura Kura Bali, a new “eco-development” that emphasizes sustainability and modern living on a 500-hectare island. The school highlighted the diverse marine environments surrounding the island, from scenic beaches to lush mangroves. The school’s executive principal, Rob Burrough, expressed excitement about the campus, stating that it aligns with Kura Kura Bali’s philosophy of promoting creativity, innovation, and collaboration. He revealed that ACS Bali will feature a dormitory open to students from Indonesia and other countries, providing them with a safe and sustainable learning environment.
Mr. Burrough described ACS Bali as an “Asian international school” that offers an international curriculum within an Asian context, blending academic excellence with holistic education. Rooted in the rich ACS tradition and Christian principles, the school aims to provide a well-rounded educational experience for students. Classes for Grades 1 to 9 will commence in July 2025, with Grades 10 to 12 opening progressively in the following years. Following a curriculum similar to ACS (International) in Singapore, ACS Bali will adopt the Cambridge International curriculum for Grades 1 to 10 and the International Baccalaureate (IB) for Grades 11 and 12.
Notably, ACS already has a presence in Indonesia with ACS Jakarta established in South Jakarta in 2015. In addition to ACS Bali, the school is planning to open another branch in North Jakarta, demonstrating its commitment to expanding its network in the region. ACS (International) continues to grow in Singapore as well, with plans to open an elementary school adjacent to its current high school campus near Holland Village in 2026. Furthermore, ACS (Primary) will relocate to Tengah in 2030 and begin admitting female students.
The development of ACS Bali marks an exciting chapter for the ACS network as it extends its reach to Bali, offering students a unique blend of international education and cultural immersion in a sustainable setting.
