Actor and radio DJ Marcus Chin recently experienced a health scare as he suffered a heart attack, leading to emergency surgery. The 71-year-old was filming a video at Mediacorp Campus when he began feeling unwell and subsequently had chest pains and difficulty breathing. He was promptly taken to the National University Hospital, where it was discovered that blocked arteries had caused coronary artery disease. A successful surgery was performed, with Chin now in a period of recovery.
“As a statement from his talent agency King Kong Media emphasizes, Chin is scheduled to remain hospitalized for at least three to four days. Doctors have advised him to take a break from work for a minimum of one month.”
Chin, known for his roles in various dramas and as a prominent Love 972 DJ, had a full calendar of commitments, all of which have been put on hold due to his health condition. His involvement in upcoming events, such as the Yellow Ribbon Project 20th anniversary concert on Oct 17, has been postponed. The actor had also recently participated in Love 972’s 30th anniversary stage play.
The statement released by King Kong Media on behalf of Chin expressed gratitude for the well-wishes and support extended to him during this challenging time: “On behalf of Marcus Chin, we would like to thank everyone for their care and wish him a speedy recovery.”
