Looks cute to me..
“At a ceremony for the Nine Emperor Gods Festival, a temple in Tampines embraced the Labubu trend by featuring four of the popular toys dressed in traditional attire. The TikTok video showcasing the Labubu toys among temple staff has sparked mixed reactions, with some questioning the appropriateness of blending modern toy culture with a solemn Taoist festival.

Tampines MP Baey Yam Keng also joined in by posing with two Labubu toys in white attire, reflecting the garments worn by devotees during the festival. In response to the incorporation of Labubu toys, Chen Jingliang, chairman of Ling Lian Bao Dian Kew Ong Yah temple, explained, ‘The dolls were ‘devotees’ during the event.’
While some netizens found the Labubu toys endearing, others expressed concerns about disrespecting the religious sanctity of the festival. Despite the debate, the temple sees the Labubu toys as a way to engage younger generations in the Nine Emperor Gods Festival and plans to continue their participation in upcoming ceremonies.
As Mr. Zhuo Hongshan, chairman of Kew Ong Yah Temple, highlighted, ‘Many temples are adapting to modern trends while still upholding respect for tradition. It’s ultimately a personal choice whether to embrace these new practices during religious events.'”
