An “untold” love story..
The latest developments surrounding the resignation of a vice principal accused of engaging in an extramarital affair with a student’s parent have shed light on the scandal. The revelation came to light through an email tip-off sent to Shin Min Daily News on Oct. 17, containing intimate photos and chat history screenshots of the vice principal with the alleged parent.
One of the screenshots captured an Instagram story displaying the two embracing, accompanied by the caption, “You who have always protected me silently. Thank you.” The shocking revelation prompted Shin Min to reach out to a woman claiming to be the vice principal’s wife. Referring to the evidence, she revealed, “I found out about the affair at around the same time.”
The affair had evidently been ongoing for over a year, as the screenshots contained ‘explicit’ messages, including an agreement between the vice principal and the parent not to ‘cut each other off’. Furthermore, messages revealed their activities, such as visiting a ‘dad’s house’, having coffee at Hougang Mall, and watching the movie “I Am the Secret in Your Heart” together.
The emotional turmoil experienced by the wife was palpable, as she disclosed, “I had suspicions a few months back, but only found out a few days ago that the affair had been going on for over a year.” Adding to the distress, she mentioned her husband’s attempts to mask the affair by destroying evidence. She has taken assertive action by making a police report to address the situation.
Expressing shock and dismay, other parents within the school community have been left reeling by the unfolding scandal. The news has circulated rapidly within the school parent group, with one parent expressing astonishment at the sudden revelation. The absence of an official statement from the school has fueled further speculation, as the vice principal’s name appears to have been removed from the school’s website.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education (MOE) has acknowledged the situation and confirmed the vice principal’s resignation. In their statement to Mothership, MOE emphasized the importance of upholding high standards of personal conduct among school leaders to protect the integrity and reputation of the Public Service.
As the individual remains on leave, and the school continues to monitor the well-being of staff and students, the unfolding scandal serves as a poignant reminder of the complexities that can arise from illicit relationships in educational institutions.
