Singapore’s fifth wildlife park is set to open its doors in March 2025, offering visitors a unique experience in a rainforest setting. The new park, Rainforest Wild Asia, will feature a diverse range of attractions designed to cater to adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Mandai Wildlife Group announced that the park will be the first adventure-based zoological park in Asia, setting it apart as a one-of-a-kind destination.

According to the press release by Mandai Wildlife Group, the Rainforest Wild Asia will cover a sprawling 13 hectares at Mandai Wildlife Reserve. Visitors can expect to embark on treks through vibrant rainforests teeming with 29 different animal species, offering an immersive and educational experience. The park’s design includes various paths with differing levels of difficulty to accommodate guests’ preferences, ensuring a personalized adventure for each visitor.

As part of the adventure elements, guests can look forward to adrenaline-pumping experiences such as high-element traverses across rock faces, freefall jumps, and challenging caving adventures. The park will also offer guided tours for those seeking more thrills during their visit. To enhance the immersive experience, over 7,000 Southeast Asian trees and shrubs were planted to create a natural habitat that mimics the rainforest setting.

Mike Barclay, the group CEO of Mandai Wildlife Group, highlighted the importance of creating flexible habitats for the wildlife residing at Rainforest Wild Asia. He mentioned, “Most importantly, we hope to create strong feelings of connection to nature and a renewed determination to cherish and protect our planet.” The park will be home to a variety of species, including the Malayan tiger, sun bear, Javan langur, and other “new-to-Singapore” animals like the threatened Francois langur and the Philippine spotted deer.

Furthermore, Rainforest Wild Asia will feature a multi-layered rainforest adventure with paths above and below the ground spread across 10 different zones. Visitors can observe animals in their natural habitats, such as the Malayan tiger exhibit at the “Rock Cascade” and the sun bears foraging in the trees at the “Watering Hole.” The park will also offer unique experiences like the “Canopy Jump,” where participants can freefall from a high platform before transitioning into a controlled descent.

Looking ahead, Mandai Wildlife Group revealed plans to open the next phase of the park, Rainforest Wild Africa, inspired by the landscapes of the Afro-Tropical region and Madagascar, further expanding the unique offerings at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve.
This exciting development at Rainforest Wild Asia promises to deliver an unmatched adventure for visitors while fostering a deeper appreciation for wildlife and nature conservation.
