Prime Minister Lawrence Wong Tests Positive for COVID-19

Prime Minister Lawrence Wong Announces Positive COVID-19 Test

In a recent Facebook post on Tuesday (Dec 3), Prime Minister Lawrence Wong announced that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and will be self-isolating while continuing to work from home. He shared, “Initially I thought it might just be a normal flu bug. But I just took a test to be sure. Turns out, I’ve finally succumbed to COVID after all these years! I’m feeling fine overall, and will self-isolate while working from home.”

Mr. Wong, who attended the APEC summit in Peru and G20 summit in Brazil before visiting Bangkok at the invitation of his Thai counterpart Paetongtarn Shinawatra, emphasized the importance of keeping up with flu shots and vaccinations as the holiday season approaches. He also reminded the public to take necessary precautions if feeling unwell, urging them to “wear a mask and take the necessary precautions to protect yourself and those around you.”

These actions come as part of Mr. Wong’s commitment to managing his COVID-19 diagnosis responsibly.
