Mediacorp actress Hong Ling recently shared the heartbreaking news of her mother’s passing at the age of 52. In the midst of her grief, Hong Ling reflected on her mother’s selfless nature and the impact she had on their family.
Quoting Hong Ling, she fondly remembered her mother’s love and devotion, saying, “Even in her final days, after chemotherapy had drained her, she still cooked for the whole family, worried that we wouldn’t get to eat her home-cooked meals anymore. It was as if she was trying to give us one last piece of her, knowing her time was running out.” Hong Ling described how her mother always prioritized the well-being of her family over her own and how she spent her life caring for them.
Hong Ling expressed her sadness over her mother’s premature passing, highlighting that her mother had only recently begun to explore her own happiness through activities like gardening, tai chi, and hiking. She lamented, “But just as she began to live for herself, she was taken away. She is no longer in pain. My dad and I were by her side when she left. We will see her again. Soon.”
Hong Ling’s husband and fellow actor, Nick Teo, also shared the news of his mother-in-law’s passing on Instagram, stating, “My mother-in-law passed away yesterday. The wake will be held this afternoon onwards.” The wake for Kaewsoda Kesorn is currently being conducted at Woodlands, with her cortege scheduled to depart at 10 am on Thursday.
