14 police reports have been filed against a Singaporean couple, known as Nina and Ezzy or Izzy, accused of cheating vendors in a retail scheme. According to @floristboi on Instagram, “One of the individuals who filed a police report shared anonymously with MS News that the victims have started a WhatsApp group chat for easier communication.”
A small business owner, who chose to remain unnamed, recounted her experience stating, “They kept over-promising and giving excuses. Though she received her sales money, the couple still owes her S$400 for a workshop she hosted as part of the event.” The couple allegedly faced difficulties using HitPay as a payment solution and citing this as the reason for non-payment.
Natalie, a former Fieldhouse employee, revealed that out of 18 vendors participating in a December event, 14 were not paid on time. She disclosed, “Although I handled pretty much everything with Fieldhouse, such as liaising with vendors… the couple was the one handling the financing.” Natalie also stated that she is still awaiting her unpaid salary.
The couple faced additional allegations for failing to materialize a long-term retail space known as The Pink House, where rent was collected from various brands. All Round Summer, one of the brands affected, divulged that Fieldhouse did not secure the booked space, risking the confiscation of goods.
In another instance, Studio Kalasan, ran by the same couple, failed to deliver on a BTO renovation project, leaving a homeowner with an unfinished renovation and losses exceeding S$130,000. Jeremiah Lim, the homeowner, highlighted the financial losses he endured stating, “They also paid another S$2,000 to my lawyers before ignoring all the letters.”
Social media has been abuzz with warnings from netizens cautioning others about these ‘serial scammers’. Natalie emphasized the need to stop them from creating new entities under different names, further entangling unsuspecting individuals in their scams. Additionally, an Instagram user revealed lending money to the couple for repayment but has not received the agreed-upon payment.
