A recent incident in Choa Chu Kang has stirred up concern after a man was caught on camera taking lingerie from outside a flat in the area. The incident, captured on CCTV and shared on Facebook by netizen Elyvi Lim, shows the man initially picking out lingerie from a laundry left in the corridor of the flat. Lim, who had noticed her lingerie going missing, decided to install CCTV to catch the perpetrator in the act.
In the footage, taken on January 31st at 9:34 am, the man, described as wearing a grey T-shirt and black pants, was seen rifling through the laundry as if selecting a particular item. After choosing a piece, he discreetly tucked it into his pants. However, as he walked past the flat again, he seemed to notice the presence of the CCTV camera, prompting him to quickly return the item to where he had taken it from.
According to Ms. Lim, the man had been involved in similar incidents in the Choa Chu Kang and Yew Tee estates, particularly around “block 600 plus”. She urged netizens to share her post and help identify the individual responsible for these acts.
In response to the incident, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) confirmed that a report had been filed, and a 27-year-old man is currently assisting with investigations regarding the case of dishonest misappropriation of property. Police investigations remain ongoing.
