A Belgian mixed martial arts fighter defended himself against four Indian men during a fight at a Pattaya condominium in Thailand on March 16, 2025.
Maxim Arbille, 22, and his girlfriend were trying to enter their condominium parking lot when they found a car blocking the entrance. Arbille asked two men in the vehicle to move, but they refused, leading to an argument.
The dispute turned physical when the two men confronted Arbille. Two more men joined them, creating a four-against-one situation.
A security guard tried to stop the fight without success. Arbille’s girlfriend called the police, who arrived about 20 minutes later and ended the confrontation.
Despite being outnumbered, Arbille successfully defended himself. According to Thai news outlet Channel 8, the four attackers suffered more serious injuries than Arbille.
“They couldn’t beat my boyfriend because he’s bigger and has boxing experience. He loves Muay Thai, so he had the advantage,” Arbille’s girlfriend told reporters on March 19.
The men who attacked Arbille reportedly spoke Thai fluently, suggesting they had lived in Thailand for some time.
After the incident, Arbille decided not to press charges. “He doesn’t want any problems. He travels back and forth and doesn’t want to deal with court appearances repeatedly, so he just asked for an apology and let it go,” his girlfriend explained.
The matter was resolved at the police station, where the four men formally apologized to Arbille and his girlfriend.
