A foreign man was severely injured when a car drove onto the pavement in Geylang. The incident occurred at the junction of Geylang Road and Lorong 16 Geylang at approximately 10:15 AM on Monday (10 Mar 2025).
The victim, who had just finished a meal, spotted the oncoming vehicle and attempted to flee but was struck. The impact threw him two meters away, leaving him with visible injuries including facial bleeding and severe leg trauma.
Paramedics at the scene provided emergency treatment before transporting the man to hospital. According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force, they received an alert at 10:15 AM and transported two individuals to different hospitals – one to Tan Tock Seng Hospital and another to Raffles Hospital.
The driver, described as a middle-aged Chinese man, remained in the vehicle after the crash. Witnesses reported that he displayed unusual behavior, swaying back and forth, speaking incoherently, and at one point laughing and placing his feet on the steering wheel. Paramedics eventually administered an IV drip before removing him from the vehicle and transporting him to hospital.
Before the main collision, the same car reportedly struck two motorcycles near Lorong 23 Geylang, less than 200 meters from the pedestrian accident site. A motorcyclist at the scene claimed the driver appeared to be dancing inside the car prior to the collision.
The impact also damaged a nearby electrical box and a tree, highlighting the force of the collision.
Shin Min Daily News reported that the injured pedestrian is believed to be a tourist. When journalists arrived at 10:30 AM, they observed Civil Defence vehicles and a crowd gathered at the accident site.
