Malaysian YouTuber and food entrepreneur Nigel Ng, known as Uncle Roger, posted engagement photos with his fiancée Sabrina on Instagram on March 18, 2025.
The 34-year-old comedian, now living in Los Angeles, took the pre-wedding photos at various markets and food spots around Taipei.
The images show the couple in front of a street food stall, sharing ice cream at an arcade, and posing under a sign reading “cute” in Chinese.
In some photos, Sabrina wears a sleeveless white midi dress with a bow-decorated veil, while Ng wears a white T-shirt with a black blazer and pants. Other photos feature Sabrina in a brown dress and Ng in a short-sleeved button-down shirt.
One photo shows the couple posing in front of a lingerie and sex toy shop.
Photographer Karren Kao captured the photoshoot. Sabrina thanked Kao for “bringing our vision to life and being so supportive throughout the process.” Kao helped the couple shop for outfits and comforted Sabrina when she “cried in the bridal shop.”
Ng revealed on his podcast “Haiyaa With Nigel Ng” in November that he proposed to Sabrina in Japan during cherry blossom season in April 2024.
This will be Ng’s second marriage, as he has mentioned being a divorcee on his podcast.
Ng became famous in 2020 for his Uncle Roger character, a middle-aged Asian man with an exaggerated Cantonese accent who uses phrases like “haiyaa” and “fuiyoh.” He went viral after posting a video critiquing a BBC Food rice cooking tutorial.
Ng completed a stand-up comedy tour from 2022 to 2023, including a stop in Singapore. The tour was later released as a comedy special on Hulu.
Ng also owns a chain of five fried rice restaurants called “Fuiyoh! It’s Uncle Roger” in Malaysia.
