A 47-year-old man was discovered dead along the shoreline of Pasir Ris Park on March 22, 2025. Morning joggers and park visitors found the body.
Police received a call for assistance at about 8:30am on Saturday. Officers retrieved the body from the rocky shoreline upon arrival.
A paramedic at the scene confirmed the man was deceased. The Singapore Police Force (SPF) stated that initial investigations do not point to foul play.
The body was found in an area only accessible through a small opening in the trees. Some joggers were initially confused about what police were searching for when they noticed the cordoned area around 8:45am.
A witness who shared the incident on Reddit reported that the man was naked when found and suggested he might have been “washed up by the waves.” The poster noted that the area was possibly covered by high tide following recent heavy rainfall.
A 29-year-old woman, identified only as Ms. Ng, told The Straits Times she was walking in the park when a jogger alerted her to the body near the beach.
“I was very shocked when I saw the body myself,” Ms. Ng said.
She noted three police cars and a Police Coast Guard patrol craft at the site. She added she was “very sorry that this person’s life had to end this way.”
The Singapore Civil Defence Force confirmed they received a water rescue assistance call but found their services weren’t needed when they arrived.
A social media photo showed at least three uniformed police officers examining the rocky beach area surrounded by vegetation.
Police investigations into the case continue.
