Singaporean Man Sentenced to Jail for Burning Girlfriend and Threatening Her with Knife

Singaporean Man Jailed for Violent Assault on Girlfriend Amid Suspicions of Infidelity

“Singaporean man burns girlfriend, threatens her with knife over infidelity suspicions,” revealed court documents. The accused, suspecting his girlfriend of infidelity, resorted to extreme measures by holding a parang knife to her cheek and threatened to expose intimate videos. This terrifying ordeal didn’t end there as he proceeded to burn her knees twice with a cigarette.

The 36-year-old accused faced multiple charges, including causing hurt and other drug-related offenses. Court documents disclosed that the accused lived at his girlfriend’s residence during their relationship. On June 19, 2024, he cruelly burned her left knee twice with a cigarette as suspicions of unfaithfulness plagued his mind. A week later, on June 24, he menacingly pressed the sharp blade of a parang knife against her left cheek, demanding that she confess to her alleged transgressions. The physical intimidation escalated with him applying pressure and inflicting a small cut on her left cheek.

In addition to the physical abuse, the accused also used psychological manipulation tactics by threatening to expose a video depicting his girlfriend engaged in a sexual act to her family, intending to shame and humiliate her further. Furthermore, investigations revealed that the accused had consumed methamphetamine the following month in July 2024.
