A three-year-old boy sustained facial injuries after falling out of a car through an open rear window in Malaysia’s Pahang state. His father continued driving for two kilometers before realizing his son was missing.
The incident occurred on April 7 at around 11 AM on Jalan Lipis-Merapoh in Pahang. The 36-year-old father had taken his son from their home in Kampung Berembang to a hardware store in Kampung Tempoyang in their Proton Saga.
After shopping, the father stopped on the roadside to answer a phone call. During this stop, the toddler exited the vehicle through the left rear window, which was completely open. The father resumed driving without noticing his son was no longer in the car.
The injured boy was spotted standing alone by the roadside with bleeding facial wounds. A passerby alerted authorities and took the child to the Padang Tengku police station.
When the father discovered his son was missing, he searched along the route he had traveled. After an unsuccessful search, he went to the Kuala Lipis police station to report his son missing. There, he learned his son had been found and was receiving medical treatment at Padang Tengku health clinic.
Lipis police chief Superintendent Ismail Man confirmed the incident to reporters. He stated the child suffered facial lacerations but was in stable condition. Initial investigations showed the boy fell from the left rear window while the car was stopped during the father’s phone call.
Police are examining whether negligence was involved in the case. Investigations continue.
