Prime Minister Lawrence Wong launched the PAP’s GE2025 manifesto on April 17, pledging to secure a brighter future amid rising global uncertainty with a renewed team and clear direction.
Speaking to over 400 party activists at one-north, PM Wong said the manifesto – “Changed World, Fresh Team, New Resolve” – reflects both the challenges of today and the PAP’s commitment to Singapore’s long-term stability and growth.
“This SG60 election is about our future,” he said. “We must decide who will lead Singapore through an increasingly dangerous world, and how we will secure lives and livelihoods.”
With 97 seats to be contested, the PAP is fielding 32 new candidates – the most in recent history. PM Wong called it a fresh team, ready to take on the baton of leadership while grounded in the party’s core values of meritocracy, incorruptibility, and multiracialism.
He outlined key policy focuses from the manifesto, including job creation, education for all ages, affordable homes, accessible healthcare, and building a greener, more inclusive society. The party also aims to invest more in sports, arts, and culture to improve quality of life for all Singaporeans.
Citing his personal journey and reflecting on his father’s humble beginnings, PM Wong said Singapore’s transformation is a “miracle” worth preserving. “We will do everything we can to keep this miracle going,” he said.
He also paid tribute to party activists for their years of dedication, and recalled the 4G team’s leadership during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Warning of social fragmentation seen elsewhere, PM Wong emphasised the need to ensure fairness and unity through Forward Singapore, a national roadmap focused on uplifting all citizens.
He concluded: “This manifesto is our promise. We will serve, support, and stand with you.”
Campaigning will begin after Nomination Day on April 23, with Polling Day set for May 3.
