Japanese musician Honkon’s newly purchased Ferrari worth 43 million yen (approximately $400,000) was destroyed in a fire just one hour after he collected it from the dealership.
Honkon, a music producer for the six-member Japanese male vocal group Chocolabi, had saved for ten years to buy his dream luxury car.
Police are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
According to reports, Honkon was driving the vehicle when he noticed flames coming from the engine area. He pulled over quickly, but the fire spread rapidly. Despite his attempts to put out the flames, the entire car was consumed by fire in less than 20 minutes.
Honkon called the fire department, but by the time they arrived, the car was completely destroyed.
Before the incident, Honkon had posed happily with his new car at the dealership. The white Ferrari featured red leather seats, red callipers, and what he described as a stylish color scheme.
After the incident, Honkon shared his distress online, writing: “I don’t know how to continue with life from here. I don’t know if there will be compensation for the burned car. I think I must be the only person to encounter such a problem, with my car completely burned just one hour after collection. What exactly happened?”
Photos shared by Honkon show the blackened sports car with fire damage starting from the rear. Almost the entire vehicle was burned, with only the front bumper retaining some white paint. The windows had all shattered from the heat.
