Newly elected Member of Parliament (MP) Ng Chee Meng recently surprised residents in Jalan Kayu with his hidden talent – Beyblade! During a walkabout in the neighborhood, Mr. Ng spotted a group of young residents, including one named S., engrossed in a Beyblade battle. Always keen to connect with his constituents, Mr. Ng asked for a quick lesson and soon joined the fun.
A video posted on Facebook captured the moment Mr. Ng launched his Beyblade and emerged victorious against a resident, which he jokingly attributed to “beginner’s luck.” In his post, Mr. Ng thanked the residents for allowing him to join their game and expressed his joy in connecting with them in this fun and unexpected way.
Since the recent General Election, Mr. Ng has been actively engaging with his community, visiting various locations and connecting with residents. This impromptu Beyblade battle is just one example of his efforts to connect with Singaporeans of all ages and build rapport with his constituents in a lighthearted and engaging manner.
