Two Cars Fall Into Loading Bay After Mistaking Drop for Exit Ramp at Ubi Car Park

Two cars plunged headfirst into a loading bay at StarHub Green building on Ubi Road 1 after drivers confused the area for an exit ramp. The incidents occurred in April and May 2025.

A video posted on Facebook page “Beh Chia Lor – Singapore Road” on May 9 showed a blue car that had fallen into the loading bay. Comments on the post revealed a silver Mercedes had a similar accident at the same location in late April.

The building’s loading bay contains 4-5 parking spaces connected to the road entering and exiting the garage. Drivers who fell likely thought they could drive out to the street from that point.

A food stall employee told Sin Ming Daily News that the most recent incident happened during lunch rush hour. Building management installed crash barriers after the accidents. No one was injured in either incident.

The StarHub Green building was built in 2008 and has 469 parking spaces. Management staff declined to comment beyond confirming no injuries occurred.

Drivers interviewed mentioned the parking garage has dim lighting and lacks clear signs. The accidents happened near a smoking area, but no bystanders were harmed.

A fish head steamboat eatery opened in the building in March 2025, attracting many customers who drive to the location.
