The police are currently on the lookout for the driver of a car that was involved in a crash along Bartley Road and subsequently left the scene. The incident, which took place on a Saturday morning, left the white car severely damaged, with its bonnet twisted and parts of the bumper fallen off. A photo shared with Lianhe Zaobao depicted the aftermath, showing the car positioned across the center lane, facing toward the road divider.
According to reports, the accident occurred around 8.20 am, with no injuries being reported as a result of the crash. Despite this, the driver had already fled the scene before the authorities arrived, leaving the Singapore Police Force (SPF) to undertake efforts to locate the individual.
In response to the incident, traffic police were visible at the crash site, directing traffic away from the affected area. The police have initiated investigations into the matter, in an attempt to understand the circumstances that led to the crash and to identify the driver who abandoned the scene.
Under the Road Traffic Act of 1961 in Singapore, it is mandatory for drivers involved in accidents resulting in damage to any person, vehicle, or structure to report the incident to the police within 24 hours. Failure to do so, as well as leaving the accident scene without providing assistance or making a report within the specified time frame, is considered an offense.
