A father found his daughter dead in their USJ 2/1 home on Thursday morning.
The college student’s body was hanging from a ceiling fan on the second floor. Police received the call at 11:55am after the father made the discovery in the living hall.
Medical personnel pronounced the woman dead at the scene. She was in her twenties and lived with her sister and cousin. The house belonged to the family. Police found no missing property.
Autopsy Shows Manual Strangulation
A pathologist from Serdang Hospital performed the post-mortem examination. The cause of death was bleeding around the hyoid bone. This U-shaped bone sits in the front of the neck.
“The injuries inflicted on the muscle and the bone were caused by manual strangulation,” Subang Jaya Police Chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said.
The autopsy ruled out suicide. The death is now classified as murder.
Murder Investigation Underway
Police are investigating under Section 302 of the Penal Code. This section covers murder charges.
Officers are working to establish the motive. No arrests have been made yet.
ACP Wan Azlan told the public to avoid speculation on social media. He promised further updates as the investigation continues.
The victim was alone at home when the incident occurred.
