Man Arrested for Incest After Fake Baby Abandonment Report

A 39-year-old Selangor man was arrested on 12 Aug. Police discovered he had fathered a child with his 16-year-old daughter.

The case unfolded after a security guard filed a false report about finding an abandoned baby.

Guard’s Lie Exposed Father’s Crime

Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Naazron Abd Yusof received the initial report on 11 Aug at 1:56am. A 29-year-old security guard claimed he found a baby in a box. The location was near a shop beside a petrol station in Batu 14, Hulu Langat district.

The guard told police an unknown person had abandoned the baby. But investigations revealed the truth. The guard was helping the father hide the birth.

Police found the baby was less than one week old. The newborn was healthy and sent to hospital for observation.

Two Men Plotted Cover-Up

The baby resulted from an incestuous relationship between the father and his teenage daughter. The girl was not attending school.

Mohd Naazron confirmed the security guard was “in cahoots with the man.” He said “the so-called discovery was fabricated to conceal the birth.” The two men created a false story about finding the abandoned newborn.

Police arrested the father, daughter, and security guard on 12 Aug. The two male suspects were remanded for one and six days respectively.

The teenage girl was released on police bail. She was hospitalized for examination and treatment.

Charges Carry Heavy Penalties

Police are investigating under Section 317 of the Penal Code for child abandonment. They’re also using Section 376(3) for incest.

Section 317 convictions carry up to seven years imprisonment, a fine, or both. Section 376(3) means eight to 30 years imprisonment and at least 10 strokes of the cane.
