A 19-year-old member of Japanese idol group Pretty Chuu has accused Taichi Saito of sexual assault and impregnation. Shuna Amamiya made the allegations against Saito, who is the boyfriend and business partner of the group’s producer, Yurinya.
Japanese media reported on August 1 that Amamiya was stripped and secretly filmed at Yurinya’s house. Saito apologized through Line app messages before assaulting her while she slept.
Yurinya confirmed the reports and cut all ties with Saito. The social media star has over 1.3 million followers across TikTok and Instagram.
“Recently, information has been circulated on social media that my partner in both public and private life, Saito Taichi, has impregnated Amamiya Shuna, a member of the idol group Pretty Chuu that I produce,” Yurinya wrote on social media on August 1, 2025.
Pretty Chuu is a six-member Japanese idol group. The group made their stage debut on June 16, 2025.
Yurinya called Saito’s actions “extremely irresponsible and despicable, both as a person and as a member of society.” She ended their relationship after five and a half years together.
“Pretty Chuu is something I have grown and cherished my whole life,” she stated. “We feel strong indignation and deep disappointment in Mr Saito for committing such an irrational act against such a valued colleague.”
Amamiya stepped away from group activities after the assault. The agency cited health concerns for her hiatus.
Saito threatened Amamiya to stay silent. He warned that speaking out would risk Pretty Chuu’s destruction. He offered her one million yen (~SGD$9,100) to keep quiet.
Amamiya contacted YouTuber Korekore for help. She reported the incident to police after consulting with him.
Korekore revealed that Saito had stripped and secretly filmed Amamiya at Yurinya’s house. Amamiya underwent an abortion after the assault and pregnancy.
A recorded conversation between Amamiya and Saito leaked online. This sparked public outrage and backlash from fans.
Yurinya asked people to give Amamiya space and time to recover. She said the young idol should not feel pressured to be active online.
The producer pledged to review group and management structures. She committed to providing a safe working environment for all Pretty Chuu members.
Amamiya posted a video on Instagram holding hands with someone appearing to be Yurinya. The caption read: “I’ll work hard with Yurinya-chan.”
The scandal has sparked discussions about idol protection and power dynamics in the industry. Fans have rallied around Amamiya, calling for justice and stronger protections for young idols.
