Two elderly men sustained injuries during a fight at a Bukit Panjang coffee shop on 2 Aug. The incident happened at Block 257 Bangkit Road around 8:10pm.

Video footage on Instagram by sgfollowsall captured four elderly men in the confrontation. Two men wearing dark green and light yellow shirts hit two other men on the ground with plastic chairs repeatedly.

The chairs bounced off the victims during the attack. Other coffee shop patrons restrained both attackers.

Verbal Taunts and Face Kick Follow Chair Attacks

The standing men continued taunting their victims while staggering around. They shouted vulgarities, though the exact words were unclear.

Multiple voices yelled in dialect: “Enough is enough.”

The man in yellow grew more agitated. He focused on the man in orange lying on the ground. As someone pulled back the man in green, the man in yellow grabbed another plastic chair. He tried to hit the victim again but a man in a singlet stopped him.

Despite being held back, the man in yellow kicked the man in orange in the face. The victim’s head jerked backward from the impact.

Both men on the ground tried to get up throughout the incident but could not manage it by the video’s end. Someone said: “Let’s all go back.”

Police Spend Hour at Scene After Intoxicated Men Brawl

Shin Min Daily News reported the coffee shop was crowded when the fight broke out among the group of elderly men. The men appeared drunk.

Both victims bled from their mouths after the assault. The man in the white shirt was a regular customer who usually visited in the evening.

A Western food stall employee confirmed police arrived and stayed for about one hour. An ambulance also came to the scene.

A fish soup stallholder who has worked at the coffee shop for three years said many elderly men drink there regularly. This was the first fight she had seen.
