A 56-year-old unemployed Singaporean man sits behind bars after Magistrate Mazana Sinin ordered his five-day remand on 2 Sep 2025. He’ll stay in custody until 6 Sep 2025.

Police are investigating him under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017. The charges? Allegedly molesting his 15-year-old stepdaughter.

Sister Fight Spills Family Secret

The whole thing came to light during a heated argument between two sisters at their Kampung Ayer Baruk home in Jasin. Words flew. Tempers flared. Then the younger girl dropped a bombshell.

She told her sister that their stepfather had molested her at 11:30pm on 27 Jun 2023.

The 15-year-old later opened up to her 56-year-old mother that same day. Her 17-year-old sister then spoke up too. She claimed the suspect had done similar things to her earlier this year.

The victim is the baby of five siblings.

Swift Police Action

The girl walked into Jasin Police Station at around 1pm on 1 Sep 2025. She filed her report. Officers from Melaka police headquarters moved fast.

They arrested the suspect that very same day.
