A 74-year-old woman died after her bicycle collided with a lorry in Boon Lay on September 20, 2025. Shin Min Daily News first reported the incident.

The crash happened at 8:05am near Block 209, Boon Lay Place. Police say the cyclist was crossing the road at the time.

Paramedics rushed her to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. She was conscious during transport but succumbed to her injuries later.

What happened

The lorry driver, a 70-year-old man, immediately stopped after impact. He got out to help the cyclist and called his company.

Photos shared online show the woman lying near a pedestrian crossing with her bicycle. Bystanders gathered around the scene. Blood was visible on the road surface, and her bicycle stayed there even after ambulances took her away.

A local resident mentioned seeing many cyclists in this area regularly. The high bicycle traffic suggests this route is popular among riders.

One witness heard the lorry driver say he couldn’t stop in time. The brakes apparently weren’t enough to prevent the collision.

Police investigations continue. The 70-year-old driver remains in contact with authorities as they piece together what led to this fatal accident.

The case adds to Singapore’s road safety concerns, particularly involving vulnerable road users like cyclists and pedestrians.
