Chinese Actor Yu Menglong Dies at 37 in Beijing Building Fall

Yu Menglong, who performed under the stage name Alan Yu, died at 37 after falling from a Beijing building on September 11, 2025.

His talent agency released a Weibo statement confirming the death. Police found no criminal activity involved. The agency requested public respect for his memory.

Yu’s Entertainment Career

Yu was born in Urumqi, Xinjiang, in 1988. He first appeared on television as a contestant in the 2013 singing competition Super Boy.

His acting career began with a role in the 2011 short film The Little Prince. The 2015 web drama Go Princess Go brought him widespread recognition. He later starred in Eternal Love (2017) and appeared in Xuan-Yuan Sword: Han Cloud and The Legend of White Snake.

The Incident

Yu spent September 9 dining with friends at a private residence. Early morning on September 11, he went into a bedroom to rest and locked the door behind him.

Friends noticed his absence around 6 AM. They found his body on the ground below the building. A neighbor walking their dog contacted authorities. Yu fell from the fifth floor and died immediately. Police continue investigating the case.

Industry Response

Actress Dilraba Dilmurat posted on social media, describing Yu as “gentle & sincere.” Fans and entertainment industry colleagues shared condolences online.

Yu worked as a singer, actor, and music video director throughout his career. His death sparked tributes across China and internationally.
