Grab Senior Executive Under Investigation After Alleged Viral Posts Mocking Drink-Driving Laws

A senior lead at ride-hailing platform Grab’s Singapore office has triggered a firestorm of public criticism and an internal investigation after highly controversial social media posts, in which he allegedly boasted about driving while severely intoxicated and openly declared an “anti-law” stance, went viral this week.

The executive, identified by the surname Feng, drew immediate public condemnation following the circulation of screenshots of his comments on Tuesday, September 24. The posts expressed blatant dissatisfaction with the Traffic Police’s newly implemented trial of portable breathalysers, which are intended to enhance enforcement against impaired driving.

Boasting of Reckless Driving

In one shocking comment, Feng appeared to argue against the utility of standard drink-driving laws, claiming that reducing “bad drivers” was more important than focusing on impairment. He then reportedly escalated the controversy by claiming he drove better when “sh*tface wasted while texting and getting a blowjob” than an average, sober motorist.

Feng further detailed his opposition to current legislation, describing himself as “anti-law”. He proposed that a “driving aptitude test” would be a fairer measure for determining a person’s competency to drive under the influence of alcohol, dismissing existing blood alcohol limits as logically unsound.

Grab Launches Investigation

The swift public backlash placed immediate pressure on Grab, whose corporate identity is deeply tied to road safety and reliable transport. The company quickly responded to media enquiries, confirming they were investigating the matter.

A spokesperson for Grab issued a firm statement, clarifying that the executive’s views are strictly his own and “do not represent Grab nor reflect Grab’s views.”

The company underscored its commitment to public safety: “Safety is at the heart of what we do, and we fully support initiatives that keep everyone on the roads safe, including enforcement against reckless driving.” Grab added that all employees are expected to uphold a strict Code of Conduct and comply with the law, warning that violations would result in disciplinary action.

The incident serves as a high-profile example of a senior executive facing severe repercussions for reckless online behavior that clashes directly with his employer’s core values and public safety commitments.
