A recent meeting between TikTok creator RunnerKao and Health Minister Ong Ye Kung has caught a lot of attention, and for good reason. In a fun and casual exchange, RunnerKao took on the role of teacher, schooling the minister on some popular Gen Z slang to help spread the word about the dangers of vaping.
The short video kicks off with Minister Ong thanking RunnerKao for making content that raises awareness about vaping. The minister even cracked a joke, saying his own efforts were “more for the ah peks”—a Hokkien term for older uncles. This lighthearted moment set the stage for RunnerKao to step in with his lesson.

RunnerKao wasted no time getting straight to the point, firing off a list of slang terms to show how the message could really hit home with young people.
“Vaping is not sigma. You farm zero aura by vaping,” he told the minister, emphasizing that “aura is very important to young people.” He didn’t stop there, adding, “You are not lit if you vape. And vaping is not slay.”
The video wraps up with RunnerKao thanking Minister Ong for learning all the “brain rot stuff,” before the two shared a handshake. The clip has since gone viral, racking up more than 82,000 views, over 3,100 likes, and more than 1,000 shares.
The comments section was full of people who were amused by the interaction. But beyond the laughs, many also pointed out how the brief moment showed Minister Ong’s willingness to learn the language of today’s youth. By making the effort to connect on their level, the anti-vaping message becomes much more relatable and effective for a younger audience.
