Two Hospitalised After Lorry’s Rear Compartment Ignites in Sembawang

Lorry Fire in Sembawang Sends Two to Hospital, SCDF Probes Cause

Two people were taken to the hospital after a lorry caught on fire in Sembawang. The incident happened on Monday. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was called in to deal with the fire, which started in a lorry along Admiralty Road West. The SCDF said they got an alert about the fire at around 12:45 p.m.

When the firefighters arrived, the entire back part of the lorry was already in flames. They quickly got to work and used a water jet and a foam jet to put out the fire.

Two people were involved and had to be taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. The SCDF stated that they were both taken to the hospital because they had suffered smoke inhalation.

A video of the incident was shared on a Facebook group called SG Road Vigilante – SGRV, and it showed just how bad the fire was. The video showed a very large cloud of black smoke coming from the lorry, completely covering the area.
