A brand-new sports and recreation place called Sports Arina is coming to your neighborhood. It’s set to open by early 2026 and will be right next to the Thanggam LRT station. This cool new spot was announced by Jalan Kayu SMC MP Ng Chee Meng.
What’s Inside
The facility will be privately run, but it will have a ton of stuff for everyone to enjoy. Here’s a look at what you can expect:
- Indoor pickleball courts: These will be a big plus, especially since some outdoor pickleball courts have been having issues with noise.
- Futsal courts: Perfect for a quick game with friends.
- An indoor padel court: Padel is a fun sport that’s getting more popular, so this is a great addition.
- A training pool for kids: A safe place for little ones to learn how to swim.
- A multi-purpose hall: This can be used for all sorts of activities.
Enclosed Pickleball Hall
One of the big things the new facility will have is soundproofing measures. This is to help with “potential noise disamenities,” as MP Ng mentioned. For example, the pickleball hall will be completely enclosed to keep the noise from the game from bothering nearby residents. They will also be planting more trees around the area to help muffle any noise.
This is a smart move, especially since some other pickleball courts in Singapore have had to limit their hours or even close because of noise complaints. It shows they are thinking about the neighbors and trying to make sure everyone can enjoy the new facility without any problems.
