Shaw Theatres Lido reopens on 6 October 2025 following major renovations. The cinema will give away 200 pairs of free movie tickets daily from 6 to 8 October 2025.
The Orchard Road cinema closed in September 2025 for upgrades. The renovations include enhanced projection systems and new screens.
Free Ticket Distribution
The first 200 pairs of complimentary tickets will be distributed each day at the Shaw Theatres Lido box office on Level 5 of Shaw House. Queues start at 9:30am daily. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Each customer can claim one pair of free tickets per day. The tickets are valid for same-day screenings of regular 2D movies. The promotion runs on Monday (6 October), Tuesday (7 October), and Wednesday (8 October).
Phase 1 Renovations Complete
The reopening marks Phase 1 of Shaw Lido’s largest overhaul since its 2011 upgrade. The renovations include new screens for all halls and an upgrade from Xenon projection to laser technology. The lobby has been redesigned.
Cinema Details
Shaw Lido operates at 350 Orchard Road. The cinema has 11 halls with a total seating capacity of 1,960.
Shaw Organisation spent S$20 million on renovations in 2011, transforming the cinema into an 11-screen multiplex. The 2025 upgrades modernise the facility with laser projection technology across all regular halls and a replacement IMAX screen.
Phase 2 Scheduled
Phase 2 renovations for the remaining halls will follow the initial reopening. Full completion is expected closer to the end of 2025.
