Singapore Car Pulls Down Petrol Kiosk at Johor Shell Station

A Singapore-registered car tore down a petrol kiosk booth at a Shell station in Jalan Skudai, Johor, on 18 Oct 2025 after driving off with the pump still attached.

The incident happened around 10.15pm. The station had to shut down temporarily.

Loud Crash Heard

Johor resident Chen Zi Xin said her parents were refuelling when a loud sound caught their attention. They looked up and saw another kiosk ahead had collapsed, reported The Straits Times.

A silver car sat several metres away with its fuel cover open and a petrol pump still lodged in the vehicle.

Video footage posted on Facebook showed an employee sprinting across the forecourt as a man from the Singapore-registered car stepped out.

A station employee flagged down the driver.

Customers Evacuated Over Explosion Risk

Chen said her family feared the station might explode and drove off immediately. At least three other motorists abandoned their pumps as operations stopped.

Photos and videos shared online showed the pump heavily damaged. Bits of hose and casing lay scattered on the ground. Another video captured a nearby car reversing from the wrecked pump while two Shell staff rushed over.

Driver Remained Until 3am

A Shell employee on shift during the incident said a police report was filed. The station contacted its insurance company, according to Shin Min Daily News.

The driver—a Singaporean man in his 30s—apologised multiple times and cooperated fully. He stayed at the petrol station until 3am.
