Muhammad Shafirul Danish Bin Muhammad Shaffie, a 19-year-old full-time National Serviceman with the Singapore Police Force, pleaded guilty on 27 November 2025 to two counts of attempting to obtain sexual services from a minor and one count of harassment.
Shafirul approached three boys aged 15 to 16 over several months. He offered them between $50 and $290 to perform lewd acts on them.
All three boys turned him down.
First Boy Lost $45, Refused Sexual Offer
Shafirul met the first victim, a 16-year-old, on Instagram in November 2024. The boy disclosed his age early in their conversations.
In March 2025, Shafirul borrowed $45 from the teen during a meetup.
When the boy asked for his money back, Shafirul repeatedly propositioned him. He offered $200 for oral sex. The victim said no and asked for his $45.
Shafirul then posed as someone named “Izz Syah.” He offered to book a Grab ride and sent a photo showing four $50 notes—$200 in total—as proof he could pay.
The boy saw through the ruse and rejected him again. He wanted his money back.
Shafirul refused to return the $45 unless the victim accepted his sexual offer. The boy kept refusing and eventually stopped all contact.
The teen filed a police report on 10 April 2025. Police arrested Shafirul on 28 July and released him on bail on 15 August.
Second Boy Threatened With TikTok Exposure
In November 2024, Shafirul found a second teen’s TikTok post and messaged him. The 16-year-old told him his age multiple times.
In March 2025, Shafirul made his move. He offered $200 to $290 for oral sex and $50 for a penis photo.
The teen said no to both.
Shafirul bombarded him with messages. He scolded the boy and pressured him relentlessly.
When the teen asked him to stop, Shafirul threatened to post his face on TikTok. Scared, the boy agreed to meet but kept postponing. Shafirul threatened exposure again.
The teen eventually blocked him and shared screenshots of Shafirul’s messages in a Telegram group chat they were both in. He wanted to warn others.
This enraged Shafirul. He grabbed a photo of the teen’s face and posted it in the same chat with the message “sini settle boi.” He demanded the teen delete his warning posts.
The teen complied to stop the harassment.
But Shafirul didn’t stop. He posted a TikTok video featuring the boy’s face, mocking him. The video claimed the boy was too afraid to meet him face to face.
When the teen discovered the post, he unblocked Shafirul and begged him to take it down.
Shafirul called him on Telegram and repeated his offer—cash for oral sex. The boy refused again and asked him to remove the TikTok video.
Shafirul said no. He told the teen to find other people he could perform sexual acts on instead. He said he specifically wanted handsome boys who looked like the victim.
Desperate, the boy turned to his 20-year-old sister. She contacted Shafirul and told him to delete the posts.
Shafirul refused. He said he wouldn’t remove anything until the boy found someone for him to engage in lewd acts with.
She filed a police report on 5 June.
Third Boy Approached While Shafirul Was on Bail
Shafirul didn’t stop after being released on bail. In September 2025, he messaged a 15-year-old boy he’d befriended on TikTok in May. He never asked the teen’s age.
During their text exchange, he offered $279 for oral sex. The boy refused. Shafirul asked again. The boy refused again.
Reformative Training Assessment Ordered
The court called for a report to assess whether Shafirul is suitable for reformative training. His sentencing is scheduled for 29 December.
Reformative training involves detention in a centre where young offenders follow a strict regimen. This can include foot drills and counselling.
For attempting to obtain sexual services from a minor, Shafirul faces up to two years in jail, a fine, or both. For intentionally causing harassment, he faces up to six months in jail, a fine of up to $5,000, or both.
