A 56-year-old man died at Singapore General Hospital on 8 Nov 2025 after a violent fight outside his flat at Block 51 Chin Swee Road. Police found him unconscious and injured on the 17th floor around 3:10am.

Three men were arrested. They’re aged between 36 and 59. All four people, including the victim, were involved in a dispute that turned into a physical fight.

The victim had been stabbed. Paramedics rushed him to Singapore General Hospital, but he died from his injuries. Police have classified this as murder.

When The Straits Times showed up at 1:45pm on 8 Nov, police had blocked off flats from the 15th to the 19th floor. Officers placed evidence markers next to bloodstains along the 19th-floor corridor around 2pm.

Block 51 Chin Swee Road is an HDB rental block with 328 one-room flats. It was built in 1973.

Chua Chai Thiam, 67, lives on the 15th floor. He heard a group of men shouting between 1am and 2am on 8 Nov. He didn’t recognise anyone.

“It was quite scary. I’ve lived here for over 10 years and I have never seen anything like this before,” Chua said.

This is the sixth murder case in Singapore in 2025. Two weeks ago, an Indonesian national named Salehuddin, 41, was charged with murdering his 38-year-old wife in a Chinatown hotel room on South Bridge Road on 24 Oct 2025.
