Lai Huat Seafood Restaurant Appeals for Diners Who Walked Out Before Settling S$119.80 Tab

Kallang Eatery Seeks Family Who Left Without Paying Nearly S$120 Bill

We hope they come back and settle it..

The owners of Lai Huat Seafood Restaurant at 72 Horne Road are trying to find a family that left their eatery without paying for dinner on November 15.

A Mothership reader, surnamed Tan, shared the incident. She said the family of four, which included two seniors, had dinner at her parents-in-law’s restaurant. According to the bill seen by Mothership, the family ordered several dishes totaling S$119.80.

From CCTV footage shared by Tan, the family can be seen getting up from their table, which had not been fully cleared, and walking straight to their car.

Tan explained, “The owners only realised that the family had not paid after the staff wanted to clear the table. We wondered if the family might have forgotten to pay the bill before they left.”

The owners do not recognise the family and therefore do not know how to reach them. They are hoping that the diners will come forward willingly to settle the bill.

Tan added, “No police report has been made, and the owners will not lodge one if the customers are willing to come forward and pay the amount owed.”

The restaurant is asking the diners to do the right thing and settle the payment. The owners are keeping the matter simple and are focused on resolving it without involving authorities, as long as the family contacts them.
