Woman Shares ‘Worst PHV Experience’ as TADA Suspends Driver Pending Investigation

TADA Driver Suspended After Passenger Says He Told Her to ‘Go to Hell’ During Ride

A woman in Singapore recently shared her troubling experience with a private hire vehicle driver on TikTok. While she did not initially mention the ride-hailing platform, TADA later confirmed that it was their driver involved in the incident.

The woman, who goes by the name Lydia on TikTok, described the encounter as her “worst PHV experience.” She explained that the issue started when the driver asked if she knew any shortcuts to her destination. Lydia said she did not, but the driver tried to find routes on his own, cutting through landed property areas and repeatedly reaching dead ends.

Eventually, the driver stopped at a location and said they had arrived. However, Lydia noticed on her GPS that she was still about a 20-minute walk from her actual destination. She tried giving the driver helpful directions, including the name of her condominium, but this only seemed to anger him.

A clip from their exchange showed the driver asking, “Who the hell are you?” and saying, “You pay me a few dollars, you treat me like your chauffeur.” He also accused Lydia of changing the address and complained that the incident was wasting his petrol and time.

As the ride continued, Lydia insisted that the driver follow the GPS. The driver grew increasingly upset, and Lydia eventually asked to be dropped off at the roadside. The driver continued to accuse her of lying, to which she replied, “I am saving you time; I never put a wrong address. You can check in your account.” Before she exited the vehicle, the driver allegedly told her to “go to hell.”

TADA Responds
TADA has suspended the driver’s account and confirmed that investigations are ongoing. The company said in a statement, “At TADA, we take all feedback related to safety, conduct, and service standards very seriously and we are committed to ensuring a safe and respectful environment for both riders and drivers.”

The company also assured that it has “treated it with urgency” and is working with the driver to resolve the matter.
