She’d Been Missing for Two Weeks
Yến Nhi went missing on 4 Nov 2025. That was one day after she left her hometown in Nghệ An to visit Hanoi.
The body was badly decomposed when authorities pulled it from the river. Looking at her face didn’t help much.
Her family identified her through specific markers. She had a neck tattoo that read “19-12-2006” – her birthdate. Four other tattoos covered her body. A scar sat on her waist. Her hair was dyed light brown.
Nguyen Van Ngoc, her 48-year-old father, confirmed these details matched his daughter. The family is still waiting for DNA results from authorities.
The Days Before She Vanished
Yến Nhi had worked at a clothing shop in Hanoi earlier in 2025. Then she moved to an electronics company in Bắc Ninh.
She quit two months before she disappeared. Her grandmother was sick and needed care.
On 2 Nov 2025, a man and woman showed up at the family home. They visited Yến Nhi for about 30 minutes. The next day, she asked permission to go to Hanoi. She caught a bus from the highway.
She called her family on the morning of 4 Nov 2025. She’d arrived safely, she said. She’d be back in Nghệ An later that day.
She never came home.
The family got one more message from her on 5 Nov 2025. She’d return that evening, it said. That was the last time they heard from her.
Her family filed a missing persons report when they couldn’t reach her. They searched everywhere. Relatives posted about her disappearance online.
A resident from Hưng Yên saw the posts. They’d found a female body in the river with similar tattoos.
