47 Detained in Islandwide Enforcement Blitz Targeting Illegal Activities at Entertainment and Massage Venues

Police Arrest 47 in Multi-Agency 4-Day Crackdown, Including Orchard Road KTV Raid

From December 3 to 6, a multi-agency enforcement operation led to the detention of 47 individuals, including a raid at an Orchard Road KTV, according to Shin Min Daily News. The operation targeted various illegal activities across multiple locations in Singapore.

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) worked alongside the Health Sciences Authority (HSA), Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA), Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB), and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) during the operation. SPF stated that the targets included locations in Orchard Road, Robertson Quay, Balestier, Novena, Kim Keat Road, Toa Payoh, and Whampoa. These included public entertainment venues, massage parlours, as well as residential and commercial premises linked to illicit activities.

A Shin Min reporter who witnessed the operation noted that “all the girls who were arrested were also ‘medically enhanced’ in terms of their appearance.”

Detentions and Offences

The four-day enforcement blitz resulted in the arrest of 37 women and 10 men, aged between 20 and 88. Among them, nine men and two women were arrested for gambling offences. Over S$5,000 in cash and mobile phones were seized as case exhibits.

In addition, 26 women, aged 20 to 37, were arrested along Orchard Road for offences under the Women’s Charter and foreign manpower regulations. Nine women and one man were also arrested during massage-related operations for similar offences.

The SPF confirmed that investigations against all 47 individuals are ongoing.

“This operation highlights the coordinated efforts of multiple agencies to crack down on illegal activities in the city,” said a spokesperson from SPF.

By addressing offences from gambling to foreign manpower violations, the multi-agency blitz demonstrates a strong commitment to law enforcement and public safety across Singapore.
