A 71-year-old Singaporean man appeared in court on 9 December 2025 facing three molestation charges. The alleged crimes happened at a church about a decade ago.
The incidents supposedly occurred between 16 April 2015 and 15 April 2016. At the time, the man was 61.
A gag order bars anyone from revealing the man’s identity. This protects the victim, who was 12 years old when the alleged molestation took place. She’s now 22.
What Allegedly Happened
Court documents say the man fondled the pre-teen’s chest and private parts. This happened at least three times at the place of worship.
The church’s name has been removed from official records.
The papers don’t reveal how the victim and accused knew each other. They also don’t explain the 10-year gap before charges were filed.
What Happens Next
The case returns to court on 30 December.
If found guilty of molesting a child under 14, the man faces up to five years in jail. He could also be fined or caned, or get a combination of these punishments.
However, caning is off the table. The law doesn’t allow it for anyone over 50.
